flying saucer

We finally busted out Asher's ExerSaucer!

He got this as a gift at my baby shower and we've been waiting until he could support his trunk really well before getting it out for him.

{That...and it was packed deep beneath our stairs and I kind of forgot we had it}

Anyway, it's out now!  Asher is...ambivalent.  He will look around at ALL of the stuff and play for a few minutes, but before long he's crying and reaching up for me to pluck him out.

I think the problem is 2-fold:

1) there's a TON of stuff on this thing.  I think it all overwhelms him a little.  He looks around and around and doesn't seem sure what to grab first.  I'm going to try to remove a few things and see if that helps.

2) Ash really loves his Jumparoo.  In fact, he loves to jump anytime his feet hit the floor.  This saucer says you can jump in it {but he really can't} and I think that's a major disappointment.

One funny thing about it, though, is that every time Asher's feet touch the plastic bottom he pulls them right back up.  He ends up leaning forward with his feet back and looks like he's trying to fly.

Super Baby to the rescue!

We'll keep trying it, but if the ExerSaucer ends up being a dud for us, oh well.  Not every toy is going to be a winner.  Maybe the next baby will like it.  ;o)

  2. Mac and Eli also some a similar ExerSaucer at school that all the babies seem to love. Maybe it will just take him a few tries to get used to it??

    BTW, I'm going shopping after work one day this week to get Eli a sippy cup with a straw. Fingers crossed he'll like it.

  3. How cute. Super baby! We had an exersaucer for Cameron and he loved it! They didnt make Jumperoo's then...lol. Only the door jumpers. He loved his! We only got a Jumperoo this time and Ethan could totally care less for it. I wish I had kept the exersaucer! It's funny how different babies are! ?Hopefully taking a few of the toys off so he's now so overwhelmed will help Asher.

  4. Jack loves his jumperoo too. He does use an exersaucer at daycare though. I agree that there is a lot of stuff on it. He usually likes to grab on to one thing in particular, while looking at everything else, and if he looses his grip on it gets frustrated until he gets a hold of it again! It's cute!

    Oh, and I made my button a bit smaller if you'd like to change it. It was a little too big!

  5. We have an exersaucer {not quite this fancy but the same idea} and B tries hard to jump in it since he absolutely loves his jumperoo... and it's kind of sad to watch him jump with no actual real give on the bottom part. It's supposed to has some give so they can jump but it doesn't work the best. I hope Asher gets more used to this toy as it looks like lots of fun!

  6. My God daughter was the same with her junmparoo. They finally had to put a pillow underneath it so she would put her feet down! I cannot believe how big Asher is...it seems like just the other day you were posting preggo pics for us.
