october happenings: week four

This week had a couple big events that got their own posts, so this re-cap will be short!  Asher finished up the soccer season and got his medal on the final day.

These two really are best buds.  I love catching them scooted close together.  :-)

We rearranged Hadley's room to convert her crib into a toddler bed and I love how this little corner turned out!

My sister sent Hadley this Kitty robe as part of her birthday gift and Haddie has fallen head over heels for her "cozy robe".  She loves this thing and wears it all the time.  Cracks me up!

On the morning of Hadley's birthday Asher treated her to a very special "Happy Birthday" serenade.

She lapped it up with a spoon and basked in all the attention.

Sweet newborn, 1 year, 2 year, and THREE year old Hadley!

For her birthday dinner Hadley chose what every 3 year old chooses...hummus restaurant.  The girl loves hummus and I love her!

After the birthday celebrations were over we got into high gear for Halloween.  I made a shirt for baby bear and I to wear - I love how fun it is!

Hadley and I were putting these monster gel clings on the window and I asked her if she wanted to put the candy pieces on as well and she said "that's not candy, Mommy.  Those are hair bows."  bahaha!  This girl.

We've had some beautiful weather and enjoy outdoor snacks to go with it.  Love fall!

happy birthday hadley!

Hadley Fern, you are THREE years old!

As I say every year, I can't believe it's been another year of Hadley already - where does the time go??  Hadley, you are such a fun girl!  You truly are our happy Hadley.

We threw you a "kitty" party on Saturday and it was a blast!

It was a little chilly, but a sunny beautiful day overall.  The bouncing house was a huge hit with all of the kids, especially you and your brother.

I'd been planning to just get cupcakes and top them with a kitty ring for everyone, but you got the idea in your head that you needed a Birthday Cake.  You probably mentioned it 75x.  So, of course, we had to make a kitty cake happen!

One fun thing about living in New Jersey now is that we have a lot of family and friends who were excited to come celebrate with you.

For lunch we had one last cookout of the year and made hot dogs, baked beans, veggies, fruit kabobs, and lots of snacks.  You requested your favorite "hot dog on a stick" (corn dogs) so we had those too. :-)

You helped me put together fun treat boxes for your friends.  Inside we stashed Hello Kitty everything!  Stickers, tattoos, tissues, candy, and a bouncy ball.

We also had a fun kitty craft.  I found these cat masks at Michaels and the kids had a lot of fun coloring them with markers and gluing cotton balls on for fur.  You never got too far from your bestie cousin.  :-)

At cake and singing time Asher was sure to stay close by to make sure you knew what to do.  I love how close you are and how much he helps you.  For some reason, this year you took the candle blowing very seriously - ha!

Oh Hadley, we love you so.  Happy 3rd birthday!

october happenings: week three

Asher has been playing soccer on a town team this fall.  This girl and I are his biggest fans!

She wants to play SO BADLY, but is happy to take him his water in the meantime.

Over the weekend we painted pumpkins - Asher and Hadley each had special requests, but there was only one pumpkin left, so I did one on each side.  :-)

Our neighborhood has the worst ice cream truck.  Seriously, the worst.  He runs the truck music but then FLIES through the neighborhood with no hope of catching him.  It's been really disappointing all summer so when an ice cream truck showed up at the park the other day we had to get some (even though it's mid-October...and 65 degrees).  The kids were thrilled!

I haven't made anything for Asher in the longest time.  He's getting a little big for the size appliqués that my machine can handle so I've had to get more creative.  This should be fun for Halloween though!

Speaking of crafting, Kitty Party is still being worked on, little by little.  This week it is the treat boxes.  How cute are these?!

Another Saturday, another soccer day.  #toestop

This week was picture day at school so I asked the kids to give me their best "Picture Smiles".  This is what I got.  ha!

it's a...

We had our 20 week ultrasound for baby #3 today!

Everything looked just perfect and we found out that...

That's right, another brother for our family!!  Asher was convinced that he was getting another sister so I'm glad we found out and gave him some time to digest the change of plans.  He's coming around and is getting excited to have a baby brother.  :-)

I think Baby bear (his new nickname) looks JUST like his big brother.  We'll see once he's born, but these ultrasound photos look awfully familiar to me...

Can't sign off an ultrasound post without a pic of baby tootsies!  I'm so excited to kiss these little pigs in person!

We are so grateful for a healthy baby and love our newest little guy!

october happenings: weeks one and two

The first of October means skelly pajamas!  Hadley calls hers "BIG bones" and loves that "there is candy corn in my jammie belly!"  She never ceases to crack me up.

It's good that her big bones PJs are purple because I think we have a favorite color on our hands.  Don't ask me how I know...

Miss H asked for "Anna braids" this morning, so I did my best.  Her hair is so. darn. fine that it's hard to keep in braids.  They looked cute for awhile, but preschool basically did them in.  Oh well...

There has been some Halloween crafting going on around here!  Any guesses?

Here's a bigger clue - ha!  She's the cutest little Minnie Mouse ever!!

Asher had his first Kindergarten friend birthday party this week.  It was an ice skating party and Asher has never been on ice in his life.  Unfortunately Drew wasn't available to come and I couldn't get on the ice since it's too risky for baby.  I wasn't sure how A would do out there on his own, but he was so brave and gave it a good shot.

It may be a little while before we go ice skating again but it was a great experience and Asher had fun with his friends!

Kitty Party plans are still rolling along with accessories being at the top of the To Do list.

Check.

Baby and I are at 20 weeks already, wow!  The big ultrasound is scheduled for Friday Oct 9th and we're so excited to see the baby and find out if it's a he or a she!

These two are such BFFs.  I find them like this all the time.

I never make anything for myself so it was fun to actually gussy up a little coupon/receipt holder from the Target $1 spot for me!
