Last Sunday we had a baby dedication service for Noel at our church. As Christians, Drew and I believe that God has entrusted us with these children to raise them to know Him and serve His people. We dedicated Asher and Hadley when they were babies and wanted to do the same for Noel. Dedication isn't a baptism, but it is a public statement of faith and intent as their parents. We love our children and believe that they only success they can have in life is by developing a personal relationship with God.
The verse that we chose to pray over Noel is Isaiah 61:3:
[he] will be called an oak of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor
Our prayer for Noel is that as he grows he will become a strong and steadfast man after God's own heart - an oak of righteousness - and will use his life to display God's goodness and mercy.
We love you Noel, but more importantly, God loves you! As much as we love you, He does so more!
