her dining table debut

Hadley hit a major milestone last week - she's now in a highchair.  Ahhhh!  When did she get so big??

I had been feeding her in her bouncy seat, but it was getting hard to get the spoon in her mouth with all the bouncing.  She can really get that thing moving now!  :-)

This chair is the same one Asher has - a Stokke Tripp Trapp.  We got this chair for Asher when he was around 2 years old on the recommendation of his OT at the time.  Ash had some sensory issues around eating and was helped tremendously by eating with his feet flat.  Sitting with feet flat is great for people of any age {you try eating with your feet dangling or barely gripping the lip of a tiny high chair foot rest - it's hard!}, so I knew we would want the same chair for Hadley.  Lucky duck got her Tripp Trapp for Christmas.  Handywoman mommy pulled out the allen wrench one afternoon and got that bad boy put together for her.

Since Hadley is so young we also got the add-on "baby set" - which is the plastic backrest and front Y piece.  This is removable once she's a little bigger.  I wasn't sure if she would be able to sit up to eat yet, but she surprised me and has done great with it!  She even likes to sit up and play with her toys while the rest of us are eating.

Obviously I really like this chair.  :-)  If you're looking to buy a chair for your bambino I highly recommend this one over a traditional high chair.  Not only is it better ergonomically but it holds up to 200 pounds so you can use it for one person or another for years.  Asher really loves that he can climb up and down on his own - and has been able to for some time.  My only gripe is that is doesn't have a tray, which would be really nice for this younger age.  We didn't miss it with Asher since he got his so late, but I can see where it would be nice for someone who's learning to self-feed.  As I work around that I'll update you.

Miss Hadley is looking TOO big now.  I both love it and don't like it one bit.  I tell Drew it's at about this point when they are sleeping better and baby things are being left behind that I start wanting another baby.  ha! {we'll see.}

Happy Tuesday, friends!

  1. Aww - precious! Love little girl clothes :)

    I once met Jamie Grayson (aka The Baby Guy) and he confessed to sitting in a Tripp Trapp at his desk! Ha!

  2. How stinkin' cute is she sitting at the table??? She looks so teeny! I'm looking into one, but can't decide if we really need to spend anymore $$$ on baby stuff. But I really want one...
